The three days fasting and prayer preceding yesterday’s burial of former governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Agagu was what prevented the Agagu’s family from being completely wiped out in Thursday’s plane crash.Bishop of the coast, Anglican Communion, Ebun Oluwa Ogunele made this
disclosure while delivering sermon at the ex-governor’s burial ceremony. The corpse, which laid in a gold casket with the designer’s label of ‘Bell’ as against the one
by ‘MIC’ which was involved in Thursday’s plane crash but remained intact, was brought
by another undertaker, BELL Casket at about1.30 pm and lowered into the grave at about 3.45pm amid crying and wailing by family
members, relations, friends and followers. His corpse was buried at the church cemetery .Ogunele, who charged people to emulate the virtue of the late former minister, said that Agagu did not amass wealth, stressing that he lived a simple and glorious life which, he said, was worthy of emulation. The priest, who went the memory lane to recount the benevolence of the former governor, even after he left office, pointed out that he was generous to a fault, an attribute which was attested to by the people of his community.
He advised relations of the late former governor to take solace in the fact that Thursday’s air crash involving some members of his family did not consume them as earlier speculated in the social media.
